The Finnish National Opera has published its season for 2020-2021, and Iida has two exciting role debuts. She sings her first Susanna in Anna Kelo’s beautiful rococo production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and she has been cast in the role of the Bride in the Finnish premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s fifth and newest opera “Innocence”.
Innocence is a co-production between the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Netherlands Opera, Finnish National Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and San Francisco Opera. The libretto is by Finnish author Sofi Oksanen. The performances will be directed by Simon Stone and conducted by Susanna Mälkki and Clément Mao-Takacs.
